Feedback on Competition Act 2010 and Competition Commission Act 2010
The Malaysia Competition Commission ("MyCC") has informed the Bar Council that it proposes to review and amend the Competition Act 2010 and the Competition Commission Act 2010, which came into force in January 2012.
MyCC invites all relevant stakeholders and interested parties, including Members of the Bar, to provide feedback to MyCC in respect of the proposed legislative amendments, through MyCC's "Online Public Consultation Stage 1" process.
For this purpose:
(1) MyCC's notice regarding the "Online Public Consultation Stage 1" process is available here;
(2) The proposed legislative amendments are available here; and
(3) The feedback form is available here, and is also attached.
If you wish to provide comments, please submit a completed feedback form to G Rajeswari, Officer, by email at rajeswari@malaysianbar.org.my or by fax at 03-2032 2043.  Bar Council will compile and send the feedback received to MyCC.
Please note that MyCC has extended the deadline for Members of the Bar to provide their views.  As such, kindly submit your feedback form by 11 Aug 2015 (Tuesday).

Request for Feedback on Issues Relating to Conveyancing Practice
The Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee ("CPC") plans to organise meetings with the following authorities and organisations to discuss issues faced by Members of the Bar:
(1) Tax Operation Department, Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, "LHDNM");
(2) Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Land and Mines Office (Pejabat Tanah dan Galian Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur);
(3) Selangor Land and Mines Office (Pejabat Tanah dan Galian Selangor);
(4) Association of Banks in Malaysia;
(5) Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia;
(6) Association of Development Finance Institutions of Malaysia;
(7) Bank Negara Malaysia;
(8) Royal Malaysian Customs Department;
(9) Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia;
(10) Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents; and
(11) National House Buyers Association.
To have meaningful and effective meetings, we invite Members to provide feedback on issues relating to conveyancing practice, including details of the following: 
(1) Specific branches of LHDNM;
(2) Specific branches of Land and Mines Offices;
(3) Specific branches of financial institutions or banks;
(4) Specific developers; and
(5) Specific estate agents.
Please note that without specific details, it would be difficult for CPC to take up the issues raised by Members, with the relevant parties.
CPC will collate the responses in preparation for the meetings.
