Some new information on Transfer Pricing:
The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has revised guidelines regarding the offer for reduction of penalty and the waiver of increase in tax [No 1/2016 (amended) dated 1 August 2016] to extend the offer for reduction of penalty to transfer pricing audit cases. The concession applies to finalised audit cases where the taxpayer has paid in full within 30 days from the date of notice. The IRB also stated that the penalty reduction rates for voluntary disclosure do not apply for transfer pricing audit cases. The reduction in penalty depends on whether there is transfer pricing documentation — where a 15% penalty is imposed if there is transfer pricing documentation and 25% penalty if there is none.
Kindly visit the IRB website for further details. Source: IRB website, 28 July 2016
