The Malaysian Income Tax Act 1967 as well as other tax regulations and rules impose many compliance requirements on companies. Non-compliance with Income tax procedures in accordance with current taxation laws as well as guidelines, ruling and other regulations issued by the Director General of Inland Revenue (DGIR) can create elements of risk to taxpayers.

CCH Executive Events presents a 1-day workshop designed to address the potential problems arising from poor understanding of laws and rules pertaining to tax deductibility of expenses during preparation of tax computations.

WORKSHOP LEADER

Kularaj K. Kulathungam, a member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), is an approved tax agent under the Income Tax Act 1967 and Managing Director of KR Tax Consultants Sdn Bhd, a Tax Consultancy & Advisory firm. His experience in taxation spans over 26 years both with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) as well as in private practice. As a former Assistant Director of Income Tax with the IRB, he has served at various IRB Branches and divisions between 1988 and 2003, his last posting being the Head of the Labuan Offshore Taxation Unit. Kularaj attended 80 hours of Malaysian GST training conducted by the Royal Malaysian Customs and has successfully passed both the theory and practical examinations set by the Royal Malaysian Customs on the Malaysian GST for licensing purposes. With his experience in the various major areas of direct taxation as well as indirect taxation, he is able to blend the legal and practical aspects of the different areas of Malaysian taxation thereby greatly enhancing the learning experience for participants.
