Invitation to Serve on the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board

Invitation to Serve on the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board
On behalf of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board ("ASDB"), the Bar Council invites Members of the Bar who wish to serve on the Disciplinary Committee Panel for the 2019/2020 term, to submit their names for consideration.  Members who are appointed will be required to assist the Disciplinary Board in its inquiry into written applications or complaints made or referred to the ASDB.
Please note that Members who wish to apply must fulfil the following criteria:
(1) Be an advocate and solicitor of not less than 10 years' standing;
(2) Be in possession of a valid Practising Certificate;
(3) Not have been issued with adverse orders by the ASDB; and
(4) Not have been adjudicated a bankrupt.
No professional fees will be paid, but appointed Members will be entitled to claim for expenses incurred, according to fixed rates determined by the ASDB.
If you are keen to serve on the Disciplinary Committee Panel and able to commit to doing so, kindly complete and submit the reply slip (see page 2) to the Bar Council Secretariat, by fax at 03-2034 2487 on or before 2 May 2019 (Thursday).
