Circular No 287/2018
Dated 3 Dec 2018
To Members of the Malaysian Bar
Invitation to Submit Proposals to Amend Housing Development Laws
The Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee ("CPC") is pleased to inform Members that it has been invited by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, "KPKT") to participate in its current exercise to improve and amend the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act 1966 ("Act 118") and its regulations made thereunder, including the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Regulations 1989 and the statutory Schedule G, H, I, and J sale and purchase agreements.
CPC invites Members to submit their opinions, concerns, or proposals on any part of Act 118 and its regulations.  Feedback submitted will then be deliberated by the Bar Council, and formulated into a working paper for KPKT's consideration.
We hope to receive ample feedback, as this is an opportunity for Members, especially conveyancing practitioners, to help shape and improve the current housing development laws.
Kindly submit your feedback to Scott Khor Tzher K'ng, Officer, by email at scott@malaysianbar.org.my, on or before 8 Dec 2018 (Saturday).
Thank you.
Roger Tan
Chairperson
Conveyancing Practice Committee
