To Members of the Malaysian Bar
Invitation to Serve on Bar Council's Panel of Solicitors
In view of the increasing number of complaints and legal proceedings pursued or defended by Bar Council over the past several years, Bar Council seeks to expand its present panel of solicitors to represent Bar Council whenever the need arises.
Bar Council extends an invitation to you to be empanelled on its panel of solicitors.  Your duties as a panel solicitor will include:
(1)        handling legal proceedings involving Bar Council and representing Bar Council at hearings, including disciplinary proceedings;
(2)        holding watching briefs;
(3)        representing the Malaysian Bar as amicus curiae;
(4)        providing legal opinions;
(5)        assisting in the preparation of memoranda; and/or
(6)        acting as an intervener solicitor in intervention matters or proceedings.
In addition, we may also call upon you to assist in other areas from time to time, such as serving on adjudication panels to hear claims for compensation out of the Advocates and Solicitors Compensation Fund.
No professional fees will be paid, but we will reimburse counsel for disbursements and out-of-pocket expenses reasonably incurred. 
If you are able to serve on Bar Council's panel of solicitors, kindly complete and submit the attached reply slip to the Bar Council by fax at 03-2034 2487, or by email at ravin@malaysianbar.org.my, by 22 May 2015 (Friday).

Jemputan untuk Menyertai Panel Peguam Majlis Peguam
Memandangkan terdapatnya peningkatan jumlah aduan dan prosiding perundangan yang diambil oleh atau terhadap Majlis Peguam sejak beberapa tahun lalu, Majlis Peguam ingin memperkembangkan jumlah panel peguamnya untuk mewakili Majlis Peguam apabila perlu.  
Majlis Peguam menjemput anda untuk menyertai panel peguam Majlis Peguam.  Tugasan peguam panel adalah termasuk:
(1)        mengendalikan prosiding undang-undang yang melibatkan Majlis Peguam dan mewakili Majlis Peguam di sidang dengar, termasuk prosiding tatatertib;
(2)        menjalankan arahan memerhati;
(3)        mewakili Bar Malaysia sebagai "amicus curiae";
(4)        memberikan nasihat perundangan;
(5)        membantu dalam penyediaan memorandum; dan/atau
(6)        bertindak sebagai peguam pencelah dalam prosiding pencelahan.
Di samping itu, Majlis Peguam juga mungkin akan memerlukan bantuan anda dalam bidang-bidang lain dari masa ke masa, seperti berkhidmat sebagai peguam panel untuk mendengar tuntutan-tuntutan pampasan daripada Kumpulan Wang Pampasan Peguam Bela dan Peguam Cara.
Tiada yuran profesional akan dibayar tetapi pembayaran dan belanja tunai langsung yang munasabah adalah ditanggung.
Jika anda berminat untuk berkhidmat sebagai peguam panel untuk Majlis Peguam, sila lengkapkan dan hantarkan slip jawapan yang dilampirkan kepada Majlis Peguam melalui faks di talian 03-2034 2487, atau melalui emel di ravin@malaysianbar.org.my, sebelum atau pada 22 Mei 2015 (Jumaat).
