 SPEAKERS' PROFILE

1.   Y.BHG. PROF. DATUK DR. NIK MOHD ZAIN BIN NIK YUSOF
      Chairman, MiLand Educational Centre
      Former Secretary General, Ministry of Land and Cooperative Development
     
Prof. Datuk Dr. Nik Mohd. Zain graduated with Honours from University of Malaya in 1969, obtained his Masters in Winsconsin, USA in 1979 and later earned his PhD in law from the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom in 1989.He is the first Ph.D holder on Land Law in Malaysia. He has decades of experience and is often sought for his precious expertise on Land and Property matters. A renowned and respected figure in land development and land administration, Prof. Datuk Dr. Nik Mohd Zain Nik Yusof owns vast local and international experience through his years of involvement in various councils, committees and land settlement schemes. He had held key positions in both private and government bodies namely Director General of Land and Mines Malaysia and Federal Lands Commissioner of Malaysia, Secretary General of Ministry of Land and Cooperative Development. In 2002, he represented Malaysia on the disputed Island of Pulau Sipadan and Pulau Ligitan at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in Hague, Holland, and Malaysia won the case. Prof. Datuk Dr. Nik Mohd Zain served as professor at the School of Land Administration and Land Development of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from 2003 to January 2005. He was also a former Director of Island and Peninsular Bhd, Eastern & Oriental Bhd, Syarikat Perumahan Pegawai Kerajaan Sdn. Bhd (SPPK), Bank Rakyat and FELDA Group of Companies. He is an Adjunct Professor at University Putra Malaysia and sits on be boards of Amway Bhd, Permodalan National Bhd, Tanjung Pinang Property Development Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Peneroka Negara.

2.     Y.BHG. PROF. SALLEH BUANG
      Consultant and Visiting Professor of UTM

Prof. Salleh Buang previously served as a Federal Counsel in the Attorney-General's Chambers, Kuala Lumpur (1970-1975) before he left for private legal practice, the corporate sector and finally academia. In 1990, he went into full-time consulting. Author of more than 25 books and monographs, including "The Malaysian Torrens System" (a Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka publication) and "Smart Growth" (a Pacifica publication), he now writes regularly on the subject matter in various publications and daily newspapers. Over the past two decades, he has conducted training modules for young lawyers and their support staff, senior management in the corporate sector as well as members of the Islamic Judiciary in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and (of late) Brunei Darussalam.Actively involved in public speaking and training for the last 20 years, he is currently a Visiting Professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru. Born in Muar, Johor, he is now resident in Alor Setar, Kedah

3.  MR.TANG KEAN ONN
   Advocate & Solicitor, Senior Partner of a Law Firm, LL.B (Hons), LL.M.,
Tang Kean Onn is a practising advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and a senior member of the Malaysian Bar. He was also a member if the Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Council. He holds a degree in the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) and Master of Laws (LL.M) both from the University of Malaya. He has vast experience dealing with legal and practical issues relating to banking and housing developers over the last 29 years as well as conveyancing, documentation procedures and commercial litigation. In recognition of his contributions to legal education especially in the areas of banking law and practice, Mr.Tang has been conferred the Associate Fellowship of the Institute of Banks, Malaysia. (FIBM). He was also an Examiner and Part-time Senior Lecturer in Corporate and Commercial Law at the University of Malaya since 1983.  Mr. Tang had lectured part-time at the University of Malaya, both in the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business and Accounting. For more than 29 years, Tang Kean Onn has conducted numerous professional courses relating to legal issues for Bank Negara, the Institute of Banks, Malaysia (IBBM), and various banks and financial institutions throughout Malaysia.
Such programmes include:

TRAINER'S PROFILE

PHILIP TAN is management and soft skills guru, international public speaker, corporate trainer and motivator.
